According to reports, a middle-aged man was allegedly speaking loudly on his phone, causing annoyance to other passengers. One muscular man in shorts attempted to intervene and asked the man to stop but the situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
The incident has drawn significant attention from both passengers and netizens. Some criticised the middle-aged man for being inconsiderate of other passengers’ feelings, while others condemned the muscular man for resorting to violence. A voice, purportedly belonging to the bus driver, can be heard on the video pleading for the two men to stop fighting.

Many netizens also shared their opinions on the matter, with some agreeing that speaking loudly in public places can be considered a form of disturbance, while others argued that physical violence should never be tolerated. The police received a report at 10.08am today from a 57-year-old man surnamed Lau, who claimed that he was involved in an altercation with another passenger on the 69M bus route. He later reported that he was punched by the same passenger and sustained injuries to his face, head, and hands. The police have classified the incident as a case of assault causing actual bodily harm and are currently investigating the matter.
As of now, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident. Lau was rushed to the Yan Chai Hospital for treatment and is said to be in stable condition. The KMB also released a statement condemning the incident and reminding passengers to behave appropriately while using their services.
