2 more female staff of HK Society for the Protection of Children charged in court today


22nd January 2022 – (Hong Kong) Several staff members of “Children’s Residential Home” under the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children were suspected of child abuse cases. After 16 female staff members were successively charged, the police arrested two more in Wong Tai Sin and Shatin yesterday (21st). Two female staff members, aged 56 and 46, were charged with one count each of assault against a child or juvenile in their custody.

The case appeared for mention in the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Court this morning (22nd). The prosecution applied for an adjournment of the case pending further investigation by the police. The Magistrate adjourned the case to 21st February. At that time, the case will be handled with together with the other 16 defendants in the same incident. During this period, the two defendants in this case are released on bail pending trial.
