18cm long knife found in backpack of foreign man during security checks at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts


15th August 2022 – (Hong Kong) At around 11.08am today, a foreign man was arrested during security checks when entering the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts, No. 501, Tung Chau Street, Cheung Sha Wan. The X-ray machine detected that there was a suspected metal weapon in the man’s backpack, and the security guard notified police accordingly. Police officers arrived to investigate.

After a preliminary investigation, the police found a sharp knife about 18 centimetres long in the foreign man’s backpack. The foreign man was temporarily arrested on suspicion of “possessing an offensive weapon”. The motive for possession the knife remains to be investigated.
