2nd February 2023 – (Yanshan county) Hu Xinyu, a 15-year-old high school student from Yanshan county, Jiangxi province mysteriously disappeared from Zhiyuan Senior High School on 14th October 2022. On 12.25pm on 28th January this year, police received report from a witness saying a body was found at Jinji Mountains near the school. After investigation, it was found that the clothes on the body matched those Hu had been wearing at the time of his disappearance, according to DNA results that came out on Sunday, the body indeed belonged to Hu, Yanshan police said in a statement.
At 10am today (2nd), a press conference was held today on the case of Hu Xinyu’s disappearance and death. Under the on-site guidance of domestic authoritative criminal technology experts, the provincial, municipal and county public security organs jointly worked together to carry out investigation and visits, on-site investigations, autopsy, physical evidence inspection and identification, etc., and determined that Hu Xinyu committed suicide by hanging himself, and the body was found to be decomposed. There were no traces of fighting at the scene.
