13-year-old boy arrested for stealing ice cream in Sham Shui Po


3rd July 2022 – (Hong Kong) At about 10pm last night (2nd), the police received a report from a staff member of a restaurant in Woh Chai Street, Sham Shui Po, that a boy was suspected of stealing ice cream worth about HK$10 from the store. The police arrived at the scene to understand, and immediately classified the case as “shop theft” and handed it over to the Sham Shui Po District Criminal Investigation Team to follow up.

According to information and after in-depth investigation, the 13-year-old boy suspected of being involved in the case were arrested in the same district today (3rd). He has been released on bail pending investigation and must report to the police in early August. Some netizens took a video of the incident. The clip shows that the boy involved entered the cash register in the store. When the staff didn’t pay attention, he picked up the plastic cup behind the cash register and pressed the ice cream dispenser. When the ice cream was filled within the plastic cup, The boy escaped.
