13 arrested during anti-illegal worker operation by police and Immigration Department in New Territories


24th November 2022 – (Hong Kong) Police and the Immigration Department, carried out a joint anti-illegal labour operation yesterday (23rd) and raided several crime spots in New Territories, a total of 13 people (aged 26 to 55) were arrested, including 3 local males and 3 local females, 1 Mainland male and 3 Mainland females, one Pakistani Han and one Vietnamese woman who stayed in Hong Kong with Recognizance paper and one Indonesian woman holding a Hong Kong identity card.

The arrested men and women were respectively suspected of “violating the conditions of stay”, “aiding and abetting the violation of the conditions of stay”, “aiding and abetting illegal entry”, “receiving employment by persons who have been refused permission to enter Hong Kong”, “employing persons who cannot be legally employed”, “illegally entering Hong Kong without the approval of the Director of Immigration and engaging in employment in Hong Kong”, “Possession of dangerous drugs”, “Possession of Part 1 poisons”, etc. One of the local men is also wanted person. The arrested persons have been detained for investigation, and some of them will be referred to the Immigration Department for follow-up.
