12-year-old boy plummets from pedestrian bridge in Pok Hong Estate, Shatin and dies


8th May 2019 – (Hong Kong) At 7.30am this morning, a passerby reported to police after stumbling across a boy who fell unconscious on the hill slope near the pedestrian bridge connecting Shui Chuen O Estate and Pok Hong Estate in Sha Tin.

When ambulance arrived and rushed the boy to hospital, he was pronounced dead.

Initial police investigations revealed that the boy aged aged 12 years old was supposed to go to school near Pok Hong Estate. Instead, he was suspected to have jumped off the pedestrian bridge. A shoe and blood stains were found at the scene.

At 6am today, the parents woke up and found out that their son was missing. They called the school authority who told them that the boy was not present. Several hours later, they received the bad news from police and rushed to hospital to identify the body of their son.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the suicide.
