7th February 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is today investigating a suspected food poisoning cluster affecting 12 persons, and reminded the public to maintain personal, food and environmental hygiene to prevent foodborne diseases.
The cluster involved seven males and five females, aged 17 to 20, who developed abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, about 5.5 to 15 hours after having chicken burgers at the canteen of Li Po Chun United World College in Ma On Shan on 5th February.
Three of the affected persons sought medical advice and none required hospitalisation. All affected persons are in stable condition.
