4th December 2020 – (Hong Kong) The fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreak once again broke a hundred cases in a single day. According to sources, 112 new cases were confirmed as of 12am today (4th). Centre for Health Protection will elaborate further during the 4.30pm media conference later. As of yesterday (3rd), there have been 6,590 cases in Hong Kong so far.

The Food and Health Bureau has implemented mandatory testing instructions for people with mild symptoms. A private doctor revealed that most people were willing to be tested in the past week, but they believed that the authorities issued the test results to slow and many did not receive the results for more than 3 days. He said that it may be related to the recent increase in the number of confirmed diagnoses.

He also pointed out that in the past two days, many patients reported that they had not received the test results from the authorities for more than 72 hours. They were worried because they needed the results to prove to their employers that they were in good health before they could continue to work. He believes that the delay in laboratory results may be related to the recent increase in the number of confirmed diagnoses and multiple people being tested for the virus. The number of sample bottles given to doctors by the government is insufficient. Doctors can order 50 bottles at a time. However, the government only supplied 25 bottles last Saturday (28th of last month), the first day the measure took effect.
