16th May 2019 – (Hong Kong) A multi-vehicle collision involving a bus, taxi and a Bentley SUV took place at Cross Harbour Tunnel near Hung Hom at around 4am today. The Bentley SUV travelling towards Hong Kong in the tunnel suddenly lost control and skidded to the neighbouring lane before crashing head-on with a City Bus no. N11. Another taxi which was following behind the Bentley failed to break in time and crashed into the the Bentley.
Both Bentley and the bus sustained severe damages. There were a total of 11 casualties including the 50 year old Bentley driver, 62 year old bus driver, 4 male and 3 female bus passengers aged between 23-46 years old, 60 year old taxi driver and his 32 year old male passengers. All injured victims were sent to hospital for further treatment.
The Bentley driver failed the breathalyser test conducted by police and he was arrested for drunk driving.
