11 defendants involved in PolyU clashes in 2019 found guilty today


3rd December 2022 – (Hong Kong) During the PolyU clashes on 18th November, 2019, there were demonstrations in many places in Kowloon. Thirteen people were charged for participating in the riots in Yau Ma Tei that day. Among them, Kwok, one of the “12 Hong Kong fugitives” who were arrested by Chinese authorities when trying to escape to Taiwan and another male student pleaded guilty on 12th November and are currently being remanded pending sentencing. The remaining 11 defendants have pleaded not guilty and are on trial. All 11 of them were convicted of rioting at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts today (3rd).
